How CollisionMatrix meets Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.
In plain terms: PIPEDA gives Canadians rights over their personal information. CollisionMatrix is designed to support those rights from the ground up — not as an afterthought.
The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) is Canada's federal private-sector privacy law. It sets out how organisations must handle personal information in the course of commercial activities. Ten Fair Information Principles form the backbone of the law.
LatitudeITP has designated a Privacy Officer responsible for compliance. Contact: privacy@collisionmatrix.ca.
We identify the purpose for collecting personal information before or at the time of collection. Purposes are documented in our Privacy Policy and in these disclosures.
By creating a CollisionMatrix account, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in our Privacy Policy. Customer records entered by shop staff are held by the shop (the controller); shops are responsible for their own consent obligations toward their customers.
We collect only the personal information necessary to operate the platform. We do not collect sensitive information beyond what is required for the services described.
Personal information is used only for the purposes identified. We do not sell or share personal information with third parties for their own purposes. Retention periods are published in our Privacy Policy.
Shop accounts can update their own information at any time through account settings. Customers wishing to correct their personal information should contact the shop that holds their record.
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Access is restricted on a least-privilege basis. We conduct periodic security reviews and maintain incident response procedures.
Our privacy practices are documented publicly in this statement and in our Privacy Policy, both accessible without account creation.
You can request access to the personal information we hold about you by emailing privacy@collisionmatrix.ca. We will respond within 30 days.
Questions or complaints about our PIPEDA compliance can be directed to our Privacy Officer. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
